About

AndyAndy Thomas, the owner and the artist behind the name Versatile Strokes, was originally born in the islands of Trinidad and Tobago. He taught himself the fine art of basic faux finishing from a brief high school art studies in his native land. He started with pencil drawings, acrylic paintings on canvas then preceded to murals and other types of wall treatments. He has a natural ability to experiment with paint and texture, which led him to formal training in different wall finishes at the Faux Finish Institute and other faux finishing schools in the country. Now he is a highly trained and skilled artist – well respected in the faux finishing community. A winner of several awards at the Fauxcademy of Decorative Finishing in Las Vegas: Top Honor – Platinum Certificate for Most Innovative Faux sample project, and Gold Certificate for Best Overall Commercial Faux and Decorative Finish Project in a restaurant in 2004, also Best Faux Project for Den/Library in 2006 (among others).

Andy Thomas settled down in Colorado around 1998 and has been successful operating his faux finishing company Versatile Strokes LLC, which offers wide variety of services. He creates custom faux finishes on walls, ceilings, floors, furniture for private homes, restaurants, businesses and offices. He paints murals, accent art, borders, imitation frescos, reliefs, uses stencil artwork applications etc…

He lives with his family in Colorado. He has completed work in other states like Kansas, Texas, Arizona or California… And is always willing to travel. “I’ll do whatever clients want – they describe what they’re looking for and I make that dream happen”. He can start from scratch in a brand new home or he can add that little something extra to an already furnished and decorated room. He can do repair work, touch-ups, match existing finishes (or an item in the room), or change the look of an area with an accent wall finish. He can also refinish a vanity, any furniture piece, kitchen cabinets, etc…

Andy Thomas gives his full attention to the task at hand and provides professional approach to every project. No job is too big or too small.
